There are a lot of people who do not even want to attempt to install a Linux virtual server, and it can be difficult. There are some hard, unfamiliar processes involved. There are certain things you can do to stop it being too hard, however. Done right, you can train yourself to get used to running it on another operating system as if it was just another program. It can certainly be done in a way that is safe for your computer and can be much less threatening than it seems.

To begin with, you will need to download a player that will allow you to run multiple operating systems on your computer. These can be found for free and you can look for them by using the search engine of your choice. After this is where you will download Linux and then set up Linux VPS. It can be hard to know which version that you need and this is one thing that can leave many people confused.

There are different versions that have come out at varying times just like many other operating systems. You can make your choices based on this if you consider that when making your choice. Linux should be an ISO file when you download it, and if this looks unfamiliar, do not worry as it is not hard to utilise. It is the case that the different versions will be different sizes, and this will need to be accounted for.

Obviously, depending on the size, the time of download will vary. Your next step is to run your chosen player so that it will communicate with Linux. To do this, you will need to download the file OS.zip, which will not be too difficult to find. This should be extracted to your C: drive and then, inside the created folder, you will need to put your version of Linux.

You will need to set up a configuration file for the software you are using to allow you to run two operating systems. You do this by right clicking the OS file for that player and clicking open with and then notepad. This will show you the configuration and on one line, you will hopefully see something like C:, and this needs to point at your new Linux file.

This should be the ISO that you downloaded. After this, re-save the file and click on the OS file for the player. Linux should start, now, if everything has gone, correctly. You might need to wait for a couple of minutes if it takes a little while for Linux to start.

You should now be able to run your operating system on your existing one. This has, hopefully, not been too difficult a procedure for you to carry out and finish. To allow you to use the program any time you want to, you may want to create a shortcut.

Here, you find the software used to run two operating systems and right click on it. You will given the choice to create the short-cut, allowing it to appear on your desk. From here, you may enter the application any time that you please. It might be good idea, now, for you to work out what you intend to do with your Linux and find out how that can be achieved. Sharing files between Linux and your current system might be a place to start.
