Now I can keep my eyes on the road, use GPS, MP3 & blue tooth phone without looking down. Great quality and price too! It's a simple design, easy to assemble, and easy to mount. It holds the mobile phone in just the right spot for driving.
I take the mega grip off and slip it on the vent mount in my car. The vent mount is okay, I'm not a big fan of them but it gets the basic job done. I purchased this device for my Dell Streak 5, which is pretty much the largest smartphone on the market. I adjusted perfectly fine to the size. The suction cup is a very good design that holds well. This unit hugs my phone with its built-in cushions in a very stable position.
There is no interference with the power plug. The side clamps are notched so they don't make contact with the volume controls. Adjustability is great for any position. I can charge the phone (in any position) while it is on the holder - the clips adjust and open up so the iPhone dock connector fits and even exposes the mic and speaker for hands free talking (although the iPhone is not loud enough for a comfortable, extended phone call).
My phone fits in the holder perfect and doesn't feel like it will fall out. I would definitely recommend!
I use the vent attachment with no problems. I highly recommend for anyone with a touchscreen smartphone. I'm very happy with this kit after using it for the past three months. I used the vent adapter to mount my Samsung Focus in a 2003 New Beetle.
I am not really sure how long the tightening mechanism for the swivel joint will last but it works really well now. The design of this mount also protrudes far enough from the vent that it does not block the air flow as much as other mounts that I have seen, which is a bonus also. If you take your phone in/out of the holder frequently, the spring load mechanism may break - mine broke after approximately 2 months of usage. When things normally break, I give them a 1 star - but given the low price when compared to others, it still deserves credit. I highly recommend this product. I bought this a little over a month ago.
It fits my 2009 Toyota Highlander. The cons listed above are minor. This also comes with a dash mount (that is 3M) and a vent mount. Many other brands charge extra for different mounts.
